Ridracoli Dam: Scheduled maintenance interventions on control instrumentation
The Ridracoli dam is a double-curved arch-gravity dam in simple concrete, located in the upper valley of the Bidente river about 10 km from the municipality of Santa Sofia in the province of Forlì-Cesena (Emilia Romagna.)
Owned by Romagna Acque – Società delle Fonti Spa, it is the fundamental work on which the Romagna aqueduct is based.
The dam meets the water supply needs of 48 municipalities distributed in the provinces of Forlì-Cesena, Ravenna and Rimini and, since 1989, of the Republic of San Marino. The secondary function is hydroelectric production in the Isola plant, part of the municipality of Santa Sofia.
From 1989 to today, the Pizzi company signs an annual scheduled maintenance contract for the control instrumentation installed at the Ridracoli dam.
The scheduled maintenance carried out by the Pizzi company consists of n. 2 preventive maintenance interventions every six months. These interventions include controls and inspections previously reported on the control instrumentation and are agreed with the technical staff on duty at the Guardhouse.
After each maintenance intervention, the Pizzi company will issue a descriptive report on the state of the system and on the operations performed.
In 2007, the Pizzi company carried out an implementation and updating of the Automatic Acquisition Units installed in the dam.
