Rama Dam (Bosnia Herzegovina): Supply and installation of monitoring instrumentation

The Rama Dam is a concrete-face rockfill dam located at the confluence of the Rama River, a tributary of the Neretva River, about 4 km from the city of Prozer in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The dam was built between 1964 and 1968 with the main purpose of producing electricity.

The hydroelectric power plant contains two 80 MW Francis turbine generators with an installed capacity of 160 MW.

In 2007, the Pizzi company received an important order from the dam managing body, JP Elektroprivreda of Mostar, for the supply and installation of instrumentation that allowed the automation and implementation of the monitoring system installed there.

The automatic control system supplied, modular and with marked flexibility characteristics, has allowed to set a continuous reading frequency and to achieve a qualitatively higher data reliability than that of manual data.

All the supply and installation activities were successfully completed and received the certification of regular execution of the works by the Client.
